<p>According to Google and their experiment with retail stores &#8211; retail outlets do receive a lift in sales as a result of Adwords advertising buys.</p>
<p>In my opinion, based on reading between the lines of the above video, you need to spend a lot of money.  Big budgets result in what is effectively a branding campaign.</p>
<p>If enough people are exposed to a name or brand enough times, statistics suggest a percentage of those viewers will take action.  Like a billboard, TV commercial or radio advertisement, a large branding campaign with a good message will drive in-store traffic.</p>
<p>The question is &#8211; are there better branding and advertising avenues?   Is a Google AdWords branding campaign more efficient and less costly than other traditional options?</p>
<p>If you have the budget (over a few hundred dollars a day) it&#8217;s worth a targeted regional market test.</p>
